There have been some articles I have seen on the net where people are trying to sell their home via video on YouTube. One would think this sounds like a great idea……hmmmmm
In my opinion, this is something that Google (owners of YouTube) and other companies like it are trying to create a product to sell you that may not necessarily address a need. When I market homes to sell, I don’t subscribe to the “more is better” theory. More pictures, more description, more, more, more. My goal is to capture a prospects attention from the higher targeted real estate marketing channels (i.e. Realtor.com, Yahoo Real Estate, Prudential.com, etc) and get them to call. People don’t go to YouTube when looking for homes.
The best way for me to sell a home is, well the old fashion way…talk to the buyer and physically show them the home. Prospective buyers can easily get turned away by just the wrong word or the wrong picture (oh, the bedroom in this picture looks small…I don’t think I would be interested in this one). The more information one puts out there the more of a risk you have of turning away a buyer. A select few key words & pictures will get a buyer interested enough to pick up the phone and want to get more information from me and hopefully get them into the home to put on the “sales pitch”. Why change somethings that works?
