Buy or Not To Buy; That is the Question

…..and it depends on where and what you are looking for

CNN Money (click here for article) reran an article from Business 2.0 regarding where to buy and where not to buy.  Atlanta was in the Top 10 markets of where to buy now.

Atlanta has not had huge appreciation rates like other markets plus its still has a strong economy and the population is still expected to rise (Hartsfield International Airport was rank as the worlds busiest airport).  There may be more homes on the market that a year or so ago BUT there are still buyers out there; essentially what I have seen is that supply has increased but the demand has remained relatively flat from the previous year.  Builders are probably taking a good hit as they invested in some expensive land, putting higher priced homes on this land and the demand has not kept up. In 2006, homes below $500k have been selling relatively well compared to homes priced above $500k.  Again, it does depend on where you are looking and what type of home (i.e. town home, condo, single family, etc).

If you are thinking about buying a home this year, it is definitely something to seriously think about.
